Carefully think about it, it has been almost half a year since I last wrote and outputted words. I originally planned to write something at the end of the year to summarize the bits and pieces of the year. Since I started playing with blockchain, I might as well start writing here.
I just read about Tiago Forte's ideas and framework for creating a Second Brain. It was by chance that I came across a book that a blogger was reading, so I decided to learn more about it. After reading Tiago Forte's website and emails about this Second Brain, I gained some insights and resonance. It mentioned how in daily life, sudden sparks of inspiration often pass by, and many times, they are not recorded or even if they are, they lose their depth. It's a pity to miss out on inspiration. So I slowly read about his understanding of the Second Brain and how to construct it, and also learned about the recommended digital note-taking tools. Tiago Forte also thoughtfully recommended apps based on four types of note-taking, and it seems that as a student, I should belong to the "Librarian" category to benefit my academic research. However, I always feel more like a "Gardener," and I might prefer using Obsidian to take notes, although Notion and Evernote also seem useful.
Tiago Forte's PARA theory is also quite interesting. I tried to fit my previous notes into these four main files (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive), and it worked well. Projects are used to store short-term efforts, so I put my papers, programming, English, etc. in there, as I deal with them every day. Areas are for defining long-term responsibilities. I feel ashamed that I didn't consider these things in my previous notes, so I put my newly created second brain in there, and I will gradually consider filling it in, as it involves life planning. Resources include topics or interests, and this part has the most subcategories. For example, I have a food note named after a favorite food blogger called "Lao Fan Gu" (Old Rice Bone). There's also classical music, which I suddenly became obsessed with a month ago (I love Beethoven's Symphony No. 5), and extra learning, where I only have a bit of knowledge about economics. There's also a music category that I created a long time ago, intending to learn some music theory to help me play the guitar, but I put it aside for a while. I also had the idea of writing about my own next life, but my imagination wasn't big enough. QA is specifically for recording questions that suddenly come to mind, which can be weird or serious. Finally, the Archive is where I put miscellaneous diaries, which makes sense.
There are three points that left a deep impression on me: "design notes for future," "add value once you touch it," and "warehouse->factory."
Also, what made me write down these thoughts is "SHARE YOUR WORK."
The weather is getting colder, so stay warm.
